Terms of service

These terms apply to your use of Garolex, the online garage management service provided by Lloyd Wightman t/a Garolex, a sole trader based in Warrington, UK ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms on behalf of your business. Contact: [email protected].

1. The service

Garolex is software for running a garage business. It's provided for business use. The features available depend on the package you choose, as described on our pricing section. We may improve and change features over time.

2. Your account

You must give accurate details and keep your login secure. You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by users you add. The number of users depends on your package.

3. Free trial

New accounts get a 7-day free trial. To start the trial you add a payment method (card, or Direct Debit where offered) through our payment provider, Stripe. We email you 2 days before the trial ends. If you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged; otherwise your chosen monthly package fee is taken automatically when the trial ends and then every month until you cancel. Accounts set up with a complimentary access code are not charged.

4. Payment

Packages are billed monthly in advance in pounds sterling through our payment provider. We'll email you before each payment is due. You can change package or cancel at any time from Account & billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't refund part months unless the law requires it. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice.

5. Late or failed payment

If a payment fails we'll email you and try again. If your account stays unpaid, your account becomes read-only: you can still log in and view and export your data, but you can't create or send invoices or quotes. Your account unlocks automatically as soon as payment is made.

6. Your data

You own the information you put into Garolex. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service. You're responsible for the accuracy of your invoices, quotes and VAT settings, and for complying with data protection law for your customers' information. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use Garolex for anything unlawful, to send spam, or to try to access other garages' data or interfere with the service. We may suspend accounts that do.

8. Ultimate package extras

Website builds requested on the Ultimate package are scoped with you individually. Any third-party costs such as domain name registration will be agreed with you before we go ahead. Your Garolex garage page can be switched off at any time.

9. Availability and liability

We work hard to keep Garolex running and backed up, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses or loss of profit, and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

10. Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time. We may end or suspend the service on notice if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or don't pay. After closure we'll delete your data as described in our privacy policy, so please export anything you need first.

11. General

We may update these terms and will tell you about significant changes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
